KIEV: Ukrainian corn starch exports continue to increase. During October-April of 2015/16 season Ukraine exported 16.6 KMT of corn starch, which is 65% more than the volume exported over the same period last season (10.05 KMT). Along with this, production of Ukrainian corn starch has increased by 21% since the beginning of the current season and reached 19 KMT.
Indonesia remains the largest importers, but since February 2016 there have been no shipments to this country. Russian imports recover gradually, though current volume of purchases is still lower than last season. During the reporting period Russia imported 5.7 KMT against 7.1 KMT in October-April 2014/15. Persistent demand is seen from EU countries, but their share in total Ukrainian exports is only 5%.
