KIEV: Ukraine’s newly appointed head of the State Fiscal Service, Roman Nasirov, said Tuesday that by autumn his country will implement a “comprehensive” taxation system reform.
“We need three to four months to carry out the tax reform. We believe that the budget plan for 2016 would be built on a new tax system,” Nasirov told reporters at a press conference.

The new reform is aimed at restoration of confidence in the fiscal authorities, development of new approaches in tax administration and establishment of a dialogue between the government and taxpayers, Nasirov said.
A special commission has been set up to carry out the tax system reform, Nasirov said, without giving details on the general plan for implementing the changes.Last year, Ukraine amended its taxation policy, slashing the number of tax payments to 11 from 22 in 2013.
Nasirov, 36, was appointed to the new post earlier in the day, after the resignation of his predecessor, Igor Bilous, who left his office in late March without giving an exact reason for the move.
