KIEV: Ukraine could resume exports of electricity to Belarus and Moldova from April 2016, Deputy Energy and Coal Industry Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Svetelik told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.
“Now we’re holding talks. From the second quarter we will be able to foresee as largest exports as possible [to these countries] in the balance of power,” he said.
He added that when temperatures rise and the emergency measures in the energy sector are revoked, the burden on reactors of Ukrainian nuclear power plants (NPPs) could considerably fall. As reported, at present Ukrainian exports electricity only from the Burshtyn Energy Island.
