KIEV: Ukraine’s economy shrank 2.1 percent in January, year-on-year, partly due to trade restrictions imposed by Russia on Ukrainian goods, the Economy Ministry said in a report on Friday, citing preliminary data.
“A new round of aggression from the Russian side added to the existing external factors,” it said, identifying a fall in global prices for key Ukrainians exports as a particular issue. The economy contracted 17.9 percent in January 2015.
