KIEV: Ukraine’s President Poroshenko signed a demobilization decree of the military on Friday. The decree pertains to at least 45 thousand servicemen of the so-called fourth mobilization wave. Poroshenko says this is good news for many soldiers defending Ukraine. The country’s President also added the decree is not going to impact the defence of Ukraine’s territory. Poroshenko claims the new rule will not in any way change the number of troops stationed in the eastern part of the country.
In an address the National Security and Defence Council, Ukrainian President highlighted the success of the contract system in the military service, stating about 14 thousand contracts were signed with soldiers since the beginning of this year. The fourth wave of the mobilization started in January of 2015. It lasted about three months.
