KIEV: The seasonal two-fold drop in prices for natural gas under the social regulation of gas consumption used during the heating season in October led to an average reduction of the cost for the public by 32.6% with deflation of 1.3% following inflation of 2.3% in September, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine has reported.
“At the same time, tariffs for heating grew by 49.1%. In general, this led to lower prices (tariffs) for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel by 13.8%,” the service said.
According to its data, prices for food and non-alcoholic drinks in October rose by 1.1%, clothing and footwear – by 3.6% Since the beginning of the year, inflation reached 39.5%, while in annual terms inflation slowed down to 46.4% against 51.9% in September, 52.8% in August, 55.3% in July, 58.4% in May, and 60.9% in April.
