LONDON: Archant, the privately owned newspaper and magazine publisher, has hired MWW to drive awareness and engagement within the UK business, advertising and media community.

There was no incumbent agency at the time MWW was appointed. MWW was awarded the account after a non-competitive pitch and will provide PR support as the company develops its multimedia offering for readers across the UK.

Archant chief executive Jeff Henry said: “The MWW team will be an integral part of our drive to capitalise on the unique strengths of our business for our commercial partners in the UK business community.”

Matt Bourn, SVP head of European media practice, MWW, said: “Archant is right at the heart of one of the most powerful and engaging media channels, local media. There is a great story to be told about how businesses can use local media to their commercial advantage.”

MWW acquired independent agency Braben Communications in November last year, bringing its portfolio of media clients including the BBC, News UK, The Weather Channel, Bauer Media and Starcom MediaVest Group.
