KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has adjourned until October 20 a petition seeking to unblock national tax number of Comnet Enterprise owned by Moazzam Ali Khan, who is behind bars for his alleged involvement in the murder of MQM leader. A division bench of the SHC adjourned the hearing for want of time.

The wife of Khan petitioned the LHC, seeking court directions for the customs authorities to unblock national tax number (NTN) of Comnet Enterprise.

Sadia Bano, wife of Khan, submitted that the NTN of the Comnet Enterprises was blocked due to which several shipments, which are lying at the Air Fright Unit (AFU) of the Jinnah International Airport, are not being released. She said that the company had paid all customs duties and taxes but despite that the consignments have been detained, causing huge loss to the company.

She prayed to the court to order the relevant authorities to unblock the NTN after obtaining required documents along with specimen signature of the suspect, who is in the custody of FIA. The court was further requested to direct the customs authorities to release the consignments.
