Uncertainty looms over Customs I&I after abolition of Multan Directorate

MULTAN: A wave of uncertainty has gripped the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation in Multan, following the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) recent decision to abolish the Customs Intelligence department. The move has left officials concerned and uncertain about their future roles within the organization, amid ongoing reforms initiated by the government.

The FBR’s decision to dissolve Customs Intelligence comes on the heels of persistent criticisms related to the department’s performance, including allegations of involvement in smuggling activities.
