GWADAR: Under the dynamic leadership of Director-General Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I), Customs Intelligence and Investigation team in collaboration with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PSMA) thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,000 kilograms of fine quality hashish. The market value of seized hashish is approximately Rs245 million in international market.
Sources told Customs Today that Director-General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faiz Ahmad received credible information about smuggling of narcotics from Lasbella, Baochistan. He immediately directed Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Raza to take all necessary measures to foil attempt of narcotics smuggling.
The Customs Intelligence and Investigation enhanced patrolling and mounted strict vigilance on the movement of drugs.
Resultantly, the team of Directorate of Intelligence & Investigation camp office at Gaddani has made a successful seizure of 1,000 kilograms approximately hashish/ charas at Sapat, Liyari, District Lasbella, Balochistan.
The impugned drugs have been seized and teams have been constituted to put the involved cartel to task. The FIR has been lodged and further investigation is in process.
It is pertinent to mention here that on January 28, 2022 under the guidance of Faiz Ahmed Chadhar, Director General Intelligence & Investigation has seized smuggled goods worth over Rs635 million, which is the highest value seizure in recent history.
Director-General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faiz Ahmad directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling. He directed that anyone who found involved in smuggling should be dealt as per law
