WASHINGTON: The unemployment rate in BC climbed higher in the month of March. However it is still lower than March of 2016. According to the BC government, the unemployment rate in BC rose from 5.1 per cent in February to 5.4 per cent in March. However in March of 2016, unemployment was higher, at 6.4 per cent.
In the past year, the creation of jobs grew more than the number of people with jobs. Job creation grew to 81,900 and the labour force grew to 60,000. The stats also identified that the majority of the jobs created were part-time jobs.
