WASHINGTON: Unemployment rates decreased in all 12 of Wisconsin’s largest metro areas between March and April, the state Department of Workforce Development reported Wednesday.
Compared with April last year, 10 state metro areas saw reduced unemployment rates, the agnecy said. The increases occurred in the La Crosse area, rising to 3.7% from 3.5% in April 2015, and in Eau Claire, going to 4.1% from 4%. The April estimates are preliminary and not seasonally adjusted. Overall, the April jobless rate estimates ranged from 3% in metro Madison to 5.4% in the Racine metro area.
