JAKARTA: Consumer goods giant Unilever Indonesia has allocated Rp 2 trillion (US$150 million) in capital expenditure (capex) this year for expanding its manufacturing line and building a new headquarters.

Seventy percent of the allocation — Rp 1.4 trillion — will be used to expand production capacity, while the remainder would be used to build a new headquarters in Tangerang, Banten, said Unilever Indonesia president director Hemant Bakshi.

Unilever booked Rp 36.5 trillion in sales last year, a 5.7 percent increase from Rp 34.51 trillion in 2014. “The company’s performance still improved despite the economic slowdown,” he said.

Amid the positive financial performance, the company will pay out 100 percent of its 2015 net income — totaling Rp 5.84 trillion, or Rp 766 per share — as dividends to shareholders.

The final dividend was approved at an annual general shareholders meeting on Tuesday, the company’s director Yudhistira Rusli said.

An interim cash dividend of Rp 2.6 trillion or Rp 342 per share was paid in December last year and the remaining Rp 3.2 trillion, or Rp 424 per share, will be distributed as a final cash dividend by July 15.
