Urea fertiliser available in market at Rs 1200: Khurram

ISLAMABAD: Federal Commerce Minister Engr Khurram Dastgir Khan Wednesday said that the price of Urea fertilizer in the country has been decreased from Rs 2200 to Rs 1200.

He told National Assembly in reply of question that per unit price of electricity for farmers has been decreased up to Rs 3 on tube wells.

Khurram said that Trade Corporation Pakistan has imported 1,387,918 ton of fertilizer in 2015-16 through Gawadar Port, while 4,66,182 ton fertilizer has been imported through Port Qasim.

The government has further decreased the price of urea in last days, he said and added, now it is available at the price of Rs 1200. In the budget, he said, the sales tax on Urea have been decreased till Rs 400 while on DAP it has been decreased up to 300, he informed.
