BAHAMAS: More than 2,800 pounds of marijuana worth some $2.5 million was seized during three operations in the Bahamas over the weekend, U.S. Coast Guard officials in Miami said Wednesday.
A joint task force that includes the Coast Guard, DEA, Customs and Border Protection and the Royal Bahamas Police Force seized the marijuana after spotting suspicious go-fast vessels near Nassau.
Two smuggling vessels and a vehicle were also seized and six suspects were arrested, officials said.
