DALLAS: Texas DPS agents say they arrested five people and seized at least two pounds of methamphetamine after a brief chase in Dallas Monday night.
Authorities said they arrested five people and seized two pounds of methamphetamine after a shooting and a chase in Dallas Monday night.
Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Lonny Haschel said special agents were conducting a drug investigation at a gas station near Empire Central Drive and Interstate 35E at about 11:30 p.m. when a man tried to drive a vehicle into into one of the agents.
Fearing for his life, Haschel said the agent fired two shots with his service weapon. The shots missed the driver.
The man drove away on eastbound Empire Central Drive. Authorities said a short pursuit continued to Prudential Drive, where the man and passengers stopped and ran.
Two people were taken into custody after the pursuit, according to Haschel. Additional people were arrested back at the scene of the agent involved shooting.
A total of five people were taken into custody as a result of the investigation, authorities said. Agents seized at least two pounds of methamphetamine.
The identities of those arrested and charges they face have not yet been released.
