NEW YORK: U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Falfurrias checkpoint arrested a man Saturday who had a warrant for arrest on a kidnapping charge.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the man, who was not identified, approached the checkpoint in a black Range Rover and was immediately directed to a secondary inspection area.
Officials said upon further inspection, agents found records showed the man was wanted on the kidnapping charge by the Irving Police Department.
Agents said they then found three undocumented aliens in the back of the Range Rover under a pile of clothing.
The driver was turned over to the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office for extradition.
Officials said the smuggled aliens were processed for return to Mexico.
