FALFURRIAS: U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Rio Grande Valley seized nearly 300 pounds of cocaine worth more than $9.3 million.
Officials said the seizure happened at the Falfurrias Checkpoint on U.S. Highway 281 North.
During an immigration inspection, a Border Patrol K-9 alerted agents to a tractor-trailer. Upon further inspection, agents discovered more than 100 bundles of cocaine hidden inside the trailer.
The driver was arrested and, along with the narcotics, was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
