WASHINGTON: Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents from the Nogales Station arrested a male Mexican national with an Interpol warrant for homicide.
The man escaped from prison and attempted to enter the United States illegally. Tucson Sector Border Patrol’s International Liaison Unit contacted Mexican authorities to confirm the man’s identity based on information provided in the alert. Afterwards, agents processed the subject and turned him over to Sonoran State Police.
Several convicted sex offenders from Mexico and El Salvador were arrested by Border Patrol agents within the past few weeks. Three of the subjects committed crimes against children, including felony sexual conduct with a minor, molestation of a minor, and lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14. Also arrested were two felons convicted of sexual battery and forcible rape, and had served sentences of one to six years in jail. Records revealed an extraditable sexual assault warrant out of Utah for a sixth subject.
