ALABAMA: City Manager Elizabeth Gray will serve the city of Sand Springs for another three years. The city council approved the extension of Gray’s contract during’s meeting. She started in Sand Springs in September, 2014, after serving as the city manager in Altus for about three years.
“We are excited to extend Ms. Gray’s contract,” Mayor Mike Burdge said in a statement. “It is important that our city administration remain stable so that positive things can continue to happen here in Sand Springs.”Gray said she’s proud of the relationships the city has been able to build with the Sand Springs Chamber of Commerce and other local organizations, as well as the way the city came together and rebuilt after the recent tornado.
In the near future, Gray and other city officials are preparing for an election in October to determine whether the city renews Vision 2025 sales taxes dedicated to local public safety and economic development improvements.”I’m grateful that our city council likes the direction we are moving,” she said. “This is a wonderful community and I look forward to continuing to work alongside the many leaders and employees that make it so unique.”
