The Michigan City Street Crimes Unit and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration made multiple controlled narcotics purchases from Costello during the investigation, according to an MCPD news release.

MCPD obtained an arrest warrant last week on two charges of dealing cocaine, Level 2 felonies.

At 11:15 a.m. Monday, Costello was seen exiting Interstate 94 in Michigan City and was arrested nearby exit 40. His vehicle was searched, and the suspected cocaine – valued at $48,000 – was found.

Costello was additionally charged with possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, a Level 2 felony.

He is being held at the La Porte County Jail in lieu of a $150,000 cash-only bond.
