NEW YORK: Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 47-year-old Pablo Medrano-Banda, a Mexican citizen who lived in Progreso, according to federal court records.
Court records don’t list an attorney for Medrano, who remains in federal custody and couldn’t be reached for comment.
Medrano pleaded guilty to three counts of indecency with a child by contact, a second-degree felony, during September 2010, according to Hidalgo County court records.
State District Judge Rudy Delgado sentenced Medrano to four years in state prison.
Texas Department of Public Safety sex offender records list Medrano’s victim as a 16-year-old girl.
The federal government deported Medrano through Laredo in March 2013.
“The defendant claims to have re-entered the United States on or about April 6, 2015, at or near Progreso, Texas,” according to the criminal complaint against him.
Federal Magistrate Judge Dorina Ramos charged Medrano with illegal re-entry and ordered him held without bond.
