DOUGLAS: Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Mexican national attempting to smuggle $121,000 worth of marijuana at the Port of Douglas.
Marcos Rios-Leon was taken into custody after officers found 41 packages of marijuana concealed in the bed of the Nacozari de Garcia, Sonora resident’s Ford truck. The drugs weighed nearly 243 pounds.
The vehicle and the narcotics were processed for seizure and the 23-year-old man was referred to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
