NEW YORK: A Mexican woman was arrested Saturday after federal officers seized nearly 1,500 rounds of assorted ammunition at an Arizona border inspection station.
Lucia Monzon-Ramirez, 45, was taken into custody at the Port of San Luis.
U.S. Customs and Protection officers conducted an inspection of her SUV bound for Mexico and found the ammo hidden in one of the vehicle’s rear quarter panels.
Officers seized the ammunition and her vehicle and handed the woman over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
