“Thanks to the efforts of our Border Patrol agents, these convicted sex offenders no longer pose a threat to local communities,” said Acting Chief Patrol Agent Raul L. Ortiz in a statement.

On Saturday, agents at the Falfurrias checkpoint came across a male U.S. citizen in a black Dodge pickup pulling a utility trailer. Following a K-9 alert, the investigators found four undocumented immigrants: Two hiding inside the truck and two locked inside the trailer within a liquid storage container. They all were in good health and did not require medical attention. Border Patrol seized the vehicle and trailer, according to the release.

Meanwhile, agents assigned to the Rio Grande City Station apprehended seven undocumented immigrants from within a stash house at about 6 a.m. Sunday near Escobares. The house’s caretaker also was arrested by the Texas Department of Public Safety on a state charge of unlawful restraint and possession of a controlled substance, according to the news release. Six of the immigrants were from Mexico, and one was from El Salvador.

Agents at the McAllen station apprehended a man, a Mexican national, at about 12:30 a.m. Monday near McAllen. Records showed the man had been arrested by Donna Police Department and convicted for attempted murder, according to a news release.

In Weslaco, agents found an injured man from El Salvador who had fallen while attempting to climb over the border fence near Progreso. He was transported to an area hospital, where it was determined he suffered a fractured vertebra. He will be processed for removal once he’s medically clear, according to the release.
