NEW YORK: Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a woman for the attempt to smuggle ammunition into Mexico through Arizona’s Port of San Luis on June 6.
An outbound inspection of a Nissan SUV carrying 2,000 rounds of ammunition led to the arrest of Adrian Salazar-Meza, 23, of Sonora, Mexico. Officers seized both the ammo and the vehicle and referred Salazar to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigators.
This was the second ammunition seizure in a little more than a week. On May 30, officers seized 1,450 rounds of assorted ammunition concealed in an SUV headed to Mexico.
