TUCSON: U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a 33-year-old Mexican man April 22 for allegedly attempting to smuggle nearly 187 pounds of marijuana through the Port of Lukeville.CBP officers seized nearly 187 pounds of marijuana from a truck referred for a secondary inspection following an alert by a CBP narcotics detection canine
Officers referred the man for a secondary inspection of his Honda truck, at which time a CBP narcotics-detection canine alerted to the bed area where officers found multiple packages of marijuana, valued at more than $93,000.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and turned the subject over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
