HIDALGO: U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Hidalgo International Bridge arrested two men from the State of Mexico who allegedly attempted to enter the country utilizing fraudulent U.S. visas.
“These two fake documents were detected by our frontline officers due to their keen sense of awareness and ability to distinguish between legitimate and false entry documents,” said Port Director Efrain Solis Jr., Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry. “People must realize that this type of violation carries serious consequences and CBP will arrest those who would attempt to violate immigration law.”
On April 30, a 43-year-old man and his 22-year-old nephew, both from Toluca, Mexico arrived at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge through the pedestrian walkway attempting to enter the United States. A CBP officer referred the two men for further inspection due to noticing irregularities with the H-2B (temporary non-agriculture worker) visas they presented. Once in secondary, officers discovered that the two visas were in fact fraudulent and not issued by the U.S. Department of State, therefore they were not in possession of valid documents to legally enter or reside in the United States.
