PRESIDIO: U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations officers made a big drug bust in Presidio.
According to a press release, CBP officers seized 122 pounds of marijuana.
Officials tell NewsWest9, the seizure was made just before 9 a.m. Friday when a 2003 Lincoln Aviator entered the facility from Mexico.
The vehicle was selected for a thorough inspection and an anomaly was noticed in the floor of the vehicle after a Z-portal X-Ray scan.
Upon further investigation, the removal of a car seat revealed the false compartment containing several bundles containing marijuana.
The male driver, who is from Chihuahua City, Mexico, was taken into custody and turned over to agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
