LEWISTON: The U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized approximately 28 pounds of Ecstasy at the Lewiston-Queenston bridge on Thursday.
CBP officers say they found several vacuum sealed backs of blue and pink pills hidden in the rear seat of a vehicle driven by Donna Campbell, 48, of Canada. The pills were tested and determined to be Ecstasy.
The estimated street value of the drugs is over $880,000.
“This is an excellent seizure that demonstrates our officers’ dedication to enforcing the CBP mission and protecting the public from illegal narcotics,” said Mark MacVittie, acting port director for the Port of Buffalo. “Our officers are expertly trained, and they utilized that training to inspect a vehicle carrying illicit drugs.”
Campbell was arrested and turned over to the New York State Police to face charges for possession of a controlled substance.
