NEW YORK: Federal authorities say U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have seized more than $430,000 in counterfeit perfume at a border crossing in northern New York.
Agency officials based in Buffalo say officers encountered the bogus fragrances as they were being hauled in a tractor-trailer that was inspected Feb. 21 at the port of entry at Champlain, on the Canadian border 160 miles north of Albany.
The officials say inspections determined the goods had suspicious labeling and packaging for such high-end perfumes as Gucci, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Miss Dior.
