HEBRON: Authorities are investigating after more than 50 pounds of cocaine was seized at CVG Airport.
Customs and Border Patrol agents said it is an everyday ongoing battle to seize shipments loaded withcounterfeit money, pirated materials and drugs.
Agents said a K-9 helped find 52 pounds of cocaine in a package that was mailed from Central America.The drugs were shipped in cylinders in a package containing tools.
In another case, authorities said they found more than 12,000 pills, including 4,500 amphetamines fromChina, in a shipment labeled for use in aquariums.
That followed the discovery of $484,000 worth of heroin concealed in piston parts. Agents said theyconfiscated the drugs at an express consignment facility located inside DHL’s shipping facility. Agents search international shipments coming into the U.S. on cargo flights.
