NEW YORK: More than $6.3 million in marijuana was seized over the weekend by the Rio Grand Valley Sector Border Patrol, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
CBP said the most significant seizure happened Saturday around 3 p.m. near Chapeno, where agents found an abandoned van with 1,300 pounds of marijuana inside.
Additional seizures brought the total amount of marijuana seized throughout the weekend to nearly 8,000 pounds, officials said.
