TUCSON: Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Douglas resident and seized more than 123 pounds of marijuana during an attempted smuggling case at the Raul Hector Castro (RHC) Port of Douglas.
Officers arrested Francisco Gamez Sodari, 61, after a CBP officer discovered packages of marijuana, worth nearly $62,000, within one of two wooden wishing wells he reportedly purchased in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and turned Sodari over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
