TUCSON: Customs and Border Protection officers at the Raul Hector Castro Port of Entry in Douglas, Ariz., arrested a Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, man over the weekend. He was charged with failed attempts to smuggle nearly 200 pounds of marijuana into the United States.
On May 20, officers referred the 31-year-old man for a secondary inspection of the Ford sedan he was driving. Officers removed nearly 200 packages of marijuana from locations in the vehicle’s interior and tires.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and turned the subject over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
