DALLAS: U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) arrested a man after finding more CBP officers seized more than 2 pounds of methamphetamine in a passengers luggagethan 2 pounds of methamphetamine valued at more than $40,000.
CBP officers discovered the illegal narcotics concealed in the luggage of an international traveler.
Selvin S. Sandoval, a U.S. citizen, was traveling from Guatemala City, Guatemala to Dallas when CBP officers selected him for a secondary examination. During the examination of his luggage, officers discovered a clear bag containing a white crystal-like substance among packages of food items. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.
“This seizure illustrates our commitment to enforce hundreds of U.S. laws including interrupting illegal narcotics trafficking,” said CBP DFW Port Director Cleatus P. Hunt Jr.
CBP seized the illegal narcotic and turned Sandoval over to DFW Department of Public Safety.
