Officers arrested Estaban Contreras-Aispuro, 49, of Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico, after finding 30 packages of marijuana under the bench seat of his Chevrolet truck. The drugs, which were located with the help of a CBP narcotics detection canine, weigh nearly 64 pounds and are worth almost $32,000.Two drug smugglers were arrested after CBP officers discovered nearly 72 pounds of marijuana within the gas tank of their Jeep SUV
A CBP narcotics detection canine alerted officers to a Jeep SUV belonging to Kyle Ellingson, 18, of Gold Canyon, Arizona. Officers arrested Ellingson and his passenger, Evelia Leon-Gutierrez, 20, after finding nearly 72 pounds of marijuana, worth approximately $36,000, in the vehicle’s gas tank.
Officers seized all drugs and vehicles, and referred all subjects to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
