BALTIMORE: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations (OFO) Port of Baltimore will participate in a Federal Agency Trade Fair Day for the Baltimore business and international trade community on September 9.
The event, hosted by the Baltimore Custom Brokers and Forwarders Association and the Maryland Port Administration, will be held at the South Side Locust Point Cruise Terminal located at 2001 East McComas Street, Baltimore, MD 21230 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The event will provide members of the trade community the opportunity to speak one on one with representatives of agencies with regulatory authority over imports and exports.
In addition to CBP, other invited federal agencies include the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations (ICE HSI), and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
“We are glad to participate in this important trade community outreach effort,” said Dianna Bowman, CBP Area Port Director for the Port of Baltimore. “One of our core values is service to community and the exchange of information that will occur during this event exemplifies that.”
CBP will have representatives from the following areas: Automated Broker Interface client representatives, CBP agriculture specialists, entry specialists, import specialists, regulatory audit, and CBP officers involved in vessel entry and clearance and trade enforcement.
Free parking is located at the venue. Bring photo ID to enter the terminal. Attendance is free and no reservations are required.
The Port of Baltimore is ranked as the top port among all U.S. ports for handling autos and light trucks, farm and construction machinery, imported forest products, imported sugar, and imported aluminum. Overall Baltimore is ranked ninth for the total dollar value of cargo and 13th for cargo tonnage for all U.S. ports.
