LONDON: The U.S. dollar traded in the lower 124 yen range early Tuesday morning in Tokyo, almost unchanged from overnight in New York.
At 9 a.m., the dollar fetched 124.43-53 yen compared with 124.34-44 yen in New York and 124.50-51 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Monday.
The euro was quoted at $1.1076-1077 and 137.82-83 yen against $1.1075-1085 and 137.78-88 yen in New York and $1.1078-1080 and 137.92-96 yen in Tokyo late Monday afternoon.
In New York on Monday, traders bought the dollar and sold the yen on optimism about the U.S. economy following the release of positive U.S. housing data for August.
