TEXAS: The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop on U.S. 281, yielding over 19 kilograms (42.4 pounds) of cocaine valued at $2,606,709.60
A DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2006 Ford Focus traveling on US 281, for a traffic violation, north of San Manuel, in Hidalgo County.
The driver of the Ford was identified as Jose Alfredo Rodriguez, 21, of McAllen. During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered 19 kilograms of cocaine concealed in the vehicle.
Rodriguez was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and booked into the Hidalgo County Jail.
