US exports 3821mt goods worth $11.7 to Iran in April-May

TEHRAN: United States exported 3821 metric tons of goods, worth $11.7 million to Iran in Iranian 2nd calendar month of Ordibehesht (April 21-May 22), the Islamic Republic’s Customs Administration said in its latest monthly report released May 30.

The US exports to Iran indicates an increase by 86.7 percent in terms of value and 259 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period of last year.

Tehran’s imports from Washington stood at $17.7 million during the first two months of current Iranian fiscal year (March 21, May 22), 74 percent more year on year.

Iran imported 5664 metric tons of goods from the US in the period, indicating a rise by 393 percent in comparison with the same months of preceding year.

Imports from the US shared 0.28 percent of Iran’s overall imports in the 2-month period.

Iran’s imports from the United States accounted for $154.12 million during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended on March 20), 16.4 percent more year on year.

The Islamic Republic’s non-oil exports (excluding condensates) stood at $5.393 billion during first two months of current Iranian fiscal year (March 21-May 22), while imports accounted for $6.344 billion.
