ARKANSAS: George Frazier, original owner of the Anderson-Frazier Insurance Agency in Hope, is among the eight inaugural inductees to the Arkansas Insurance Hall of Fame (IHF) who were nominated. Frazier and seven other inductees will be honored in ceremonies Oct. 15 at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
Established by Arkansas insurance industry leaders under the leadership of Steve Russell, president of Risk Services of Arkansas, the Insurance Hall of Fame will be centered at the UCA College of Business, the announcement states.UCA currently is the only university in Arkansas to offer an undergraduate degree in insurance and risk management.
As an Independent Insurance Agent, Frazier was elected as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Arkansas, and in 1977 served as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of America. He was highly honored in his profession, receiving the Allen Kennedy Memorial Award in 1967 as Arkansas Insurance Agent of the Year; and, in 1980 he was honored by the national organization with the Woodworth Memorial Award for outstanding service to the national and international insurance industry.
Among Frazier’s civic endeavors, he was elected to the Hope City Board of Directors and served as mayor was president of the Hempstead County Economic Development Corp., as well as a director and president of the Hope/Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce, a commissioner of Hope Water and Light Corp., and served on the foundation board of Red River Technical College.
