PESHAWAR: US Consul General in Peshawar, Gabriel Escobar, and Pakhtunkhwa Hydel Development Organisation (PHDO) General Manager Syed Zainullah Shah have signed a $1,026,000 grant agreement for energy development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

US Consul General Escobar, speaking at the ceremony, hoped that the plant would eventually expand to produce double the initial capacity of 435 megawatts. He said that the agreement was an example of longstanding partnership with Pakistan and of the US’ commitment to helping Pakistan resolve its energy issues.
