GEORGIA: The Greater Lehigh Acres (GLA) Chamber of Commerce honored two outstanding people in the community for different efforts for making a difference in Lehigh; one for saving the life of a toddler that may have drowned and the other for her outstanding work in the community for the new Lehigh Acres-MSID.

Had it not been for the outstanding efforts of a deputy who saved a small child that was found in a family pool on Aug. 14, it is likely that the child would have not survived a near drowning. Because of her swift actions, Lee County Sheriff’s Deputy April Jackson was named Lee County Sheriff’s Deputy of the Month for August by the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce at its monthly meeting last week.
