HARTFORD: Detectives, working with federal and state law enforcement, seized an estimated $80,000 worth of heroin from Stafford Street.
Investigators from the Vice and Narcotics Unit, along with the Statewide Narcotics Task Force and an FBI task force, received information late Thursday about a large shipment of drugs that was to be delivered to the area of New Britain Avenue and Newfield Street, police said.
A person stopped while leaving the house at 51 Stafford St. was found with 300 grams of raw heroin, police said. Investigators found an additional 1,000 grams while searching the house, police said.
Police estimated the heroin to be worth about $80,000 on the street.
The suspect, who was not identified, was taken into federal custody on narcotics charges, police said.
