US imports of brass mill products rise 9.3pc in 2014, exports fall 7.5pc

LONDON: According to data, the US imports of brass mill products during November this year totaled 38.155 million lb, 9.3% higher when compared with 34.901 million lb imports registered during November 2013.

The cumulative brass mill products import by the US during the initial eleven months of the year amounted to 487.177 million lb, higher by 7.7% when compared with the cumulative imports of 452.492 million lb during the same period, a year ago.

The main exporter of brass mill products to the US during November ‘14 was Germany. The total imports from Germany during the month totaled 8.310 million lb. South Korea followed Germany with total exports to US amounting to 5.743 million lb. In third place was Mexico. The brass mill products imports by the US from Mexico totaled 4.167 million lb.

Imports of all sheet, strip, plate and foil products totaled 12.208 million lb in November. All pipe and tube products imports totaled 12.508 million lb. Imports of all profiles, rods and bars totaled 10.965 million lb. Copper alloy wire imports totaled 2.473 million lb.

In accordance with the data released by the CBFC, the US exports of brass mill products totaled 19.476 million lb in November this year, lower by 7.5% from the exports of 21.050 million lb during November 2013. The cumulative brass mill products export by the US during the initial eleven months of the year amounted to 234.665 million lb, down 2.9% from the exports of 241.686 million lb during January to November last year.
