SPRINGFIELD: U.S Federal and Local law enforcement agencies seized more than two kilograms of cocaine during an investigation that led to the arrest of two alleged dealers from Springfield here the other day.
Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told Customs Today that city police, members of the FBI Western Mass Gang Task Force, and the Drug Enforcement Agency targeted 40 year-old Jose Sierra and 37 year-old David Class in their investigation.
Delaney said police received information that the two were getting a large delivery of cocaine, so they set up surveillance and followed Class as he traveled from his house on Fordham Street to Sierra’s home on Brookline Avenue. When Class got there, Delaney says Sierra entered Class’s car with a one-kilogram package of cocaine. Police pulled the car over and arrested the two men, seizing the package, as well as 50 bags of heroin, 15 bags of crack cocaine, 49 Oxycodone pills, cash, and seven more bags of cocaine, which Delaney says Class had on him.
He says police then raided Class’s home, as well as a house on Empire Street in Chicopee. During these raids, police allegedly found an additional 1.5 kilograms of cocaine and other drug paraphernalia.
Both Class and Sierra are charged with trafficking in more than 200 grams of cocaine. Class faces additional charges for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, heroin, and crack cocaine. Both men will be arraigned Thursday in Springfield District Court.
