RIO GRANDE VALLEY: Hinderliter was part of a multi-state drug trafficking and money laundering organization. He would hire out-of-state truck drivers to haul loads of produce with tons of marijuana hidden in false compartments. The drivers would take the drugs to Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Drug money would then be transported back to the Valley.
Five other people have been charged and convicted in the case. Four others are awaiting sentencing.
