NORTH VERSAILLES: Police made a major drug bust in North Versailles here the other day.
Officers say they confiscated more than 30 bricks of heroin worth nearly $7,000. They also found thousand of dollars in cash.
When police arrived at the scene, they say a man tried to destroy the drugs but then took off.
A K-9 was able to track him down and he was taken into custody.
“It’s no secret that heroin is beyond epidemic in Allegheny County and Westmoreland County, so we certainly do what we can on a daily basis, whether it’s patrol officers or investigators on the streets,” North Versailles Officer Norman Locke said.
The name of the person arrested has not been released.
