HENRY COUNTY: Two smugglers on I-70 in Henry County were arrested after a traffic stop led to the seizure of 30 pounds of marijuana.
A silver Kia was initially pulled over Wednesday around 9 a.m. by a member of Pro-active Criminal Enforcement or (PACE) for following too closely.
After the vehicle pulled to the side of road, the officer began questioning the driver and passenger. It was during the officer’s questioning that he noticed several indications of criminal activity.
It was then that a K9 officer was called to the scene and discovered more than 30 pounds of marijuana.
Both the driver, Richard Obi, and the passenger, Henry Obi, were arrested.
Officers believe the pot was headed to New York.
